BE it enacted by tie Parliaruent of the Democratic Socialist

Republic of Sri Lanks ay follows -—

This Act may be cited as the Ceylon (Parliamentary

Elections} Order in Council (Amendment) Act, No. 45 of 19383.

Section 28 of the Ceylon (Parliamentary Elections)

Order in Council, 1946, is hereby amended by the insertion, immediately after subsection (4) of that section, of the following subsectui —~

“ (4a) There shall be annexed to every nomination paper for the normiiaation of a candidate at an election to be held under the provisions of sub-paragraph (iii) of paragraph (dj of Article 161 of the Constitution, an oath or affirmation, as the case may be, in the form set out in the Seventh Schedule te the Constitution, taken and subscribed or made and subseribed, as the case may be, by the candidate.

Every cetucaing officer at such election shall reject any hemination paper which does not comply with the preceding provisions of this subsection.”.
