(1)
Subject to the provisions of subsection (2), no person shall –
(a)
install ; or
(b)
keep installed, an electric line above or below the ground, except in accordance with a consent granted by the Commission.
(2)
The provisions of subsection (1) shall not apply—
(a)
to an electric line or underground cable which has a nominal voltage upto and of thirty three kilovolts or any other higher voltage as may be deemed fit, to be decided by the Commission;
(b)
in relation to so much of an electric line as is or will be, within premises in the occupation or control of the person responsible for its installation.
(3)
A consent granted under this section—
(a)
may include such conditions (including conditions as to the ownership and operation of the line) as appear to the Commission to be appropriate;
(b)
may be varied or revoked by the Commission at any time after the end of such period as may be specified in the consent; and
(c)
subject to paragraph (b), shall continue in force for such period as may be specified in or determined by or under the consent.
