Part XI

190. Forging marks

அதிகாரப்பூர்வ ஆங்கில மொழிபெயர்ப்பு. சிங்கள அல்லது தமிழ் உரையிலிருந்து வேறுபடும் இடங்களில் எந்த உரை மேலோங்கும் என்பதைச் சட்டமே குறிப்பிடுகிறது.

A person shall be deemed to forge a Mark who either—

(a)

without the assent of the owner of the Mark make that Mark, or a Mark so nearly resembling that mark as to be likely to mislead ; or

(b)

falsifies any genuine Mark, whether by alteration, addition, effacement or otherwise, and any Mark so made or falsified is in this Part referred to as a forged Mark :

Provided that in any prosecution for forging a Mark the burden of proving the assent of the owner shall lie on the accused.
