Preamble
AN ACT TO AMEND THE JUDICATURE Act, No. 2 or 1978.
Short title,
BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist
Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :—
s 1Amendment of the Fifth
This Act may be cited as the Judicature (Amend-ment) Act, No. 36 of 1983.
s 2Schedule of Act No, 2 of 1978
The Fifth Schedule to the Judicature Act, No. 2 of 1978, is hereby amended as follows :—
by the addition, immediately after the last item appearing under the heading “Justices oF THE
PEACE For Srt LANKA”, of the following new items :—
“Every District Judge and Judge of the Family
Court
Magistrates
The Judge of each Primary Court
The Secretary to the Judicial Service Commission
Assistant Secretaries to the Judicial
Service
Commission
The Administrative Officer of the Judicial Service
Commission”
;
by the substitution, for the items—
“The District Judges 7
The Judge of each Family Court
| for the respective
The Magistrates areas within which
The Judge of each Primary Court they exercise
The President of each
: their jurisdiction ”
Labour Tribunal
J appearing under the heading “ Justices or THE PEACE ror
Portions or Srt Lanka”, of the following item :—
“Presidents of Labour Tribunals for the respective areas within which they exercise their juris-diction.” ; and
by the addition, at the end of that Schedule, of the following new item :—
“The Chairmen of the Gramodaya Mandalayas, for their respective Grama Seva Niladhari divi-sions. ”.
