3. General objects at the Corpora-tion

The general objects for which the Corporation is con-oh, stituted are hereby declared to be—
1o foster a spirit of Islamic brotherhood, fellowship and unity among the Muslims of Sri Lanka

to continue, foster and promote an atmosphere of co-

existence with other communities while safeguard-ing the interests of the Muslim community ;

to study the problems of the Muslim comraunity in
Sri Lanka in the religious, educational, social and economic spheres and to offer constructive sugges-tions and assistance, and for such purposes to ex-pand the activities of the Corporation by promoting and establishing branches throughout Sri Lanka

{d) to enlist the support and co-operation of State, voluntary organisations and individuals for the promotion of cultural, moral, educational, social and economic welfare of Muslims in Sri Lanka ;
{e) to provide assistance to necessitous and deserving
Muslim students and enable them to pursue their studies in Sri Lanka or abroad ;
{f) to foster and promote the study of Islamic culture and religion ; and
to engage in such other activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
In this section the ward “Muslim” means an Individual who professes Islam.
