17. Amendment of section 30 of the principal enactment

Section 30 of the principal enactment as amended by Act, No. 10 of 2002, is hereby further amended in subsection (1) thereof, by the repeal of paragraph (a) of that subsection, and the substitution therefor of the following paragraph :—

“(a)

an allowance of —

(i)

one hundred and forty four thousand rupees, in respect of every year of assessment commencing prior to April 1, 2002; or

(ii)

two hundred and forty thousand rupees, in respect of every year of assessment commencing on or after April 1, 2002 but prior to April 1, 2004; or

(iii)

three hundred thousand rupees, in respect of every year of assessment commencing on or after April 1, 2004; and”.
