2. Amendment of section 3 of Law No, 1 of 1972

Section 3 of the Land Reform Law, No. 1 of 1972, as amended by Law No. 39 of 1975, (hereinafter in this Part of this Act referred to as the “ Principal enactment "), is hereby amended as follows :—
in subsection (4) of that. section, by the addition, immediately after paragraph (b) of that subsection, of the following new ‘paragraph :—
“(c) where any land is owned by a trustee under a private trust for the. benefit of any other’
person, the private trust,” ; and
by the addition, immediately after subsection (4) of that section, of the following new subsection :—
“ (5) Notwithstanding anything in the proviso to subsection (4), where any agricultural land is leased by the Republic to any person for a project approved by the Minister, as being in the interest of agricultural development, the lessee of such agricultural land shall not be deemed, for the purposes of subsection (1), to be the owner of such land. ”.
