4. Establishment of a department for the purpose of resolution of licensed banks

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

For the purposes of this Act, the Central Bank shall establish a Department under the Central Bank, for the proper and efficient exercise, performance and discharge of its powers, duties and functions relating to the resolution authority under this Act.

(2)

The Department established under subsection (1) shall not carry out regulatory and supervisory functions over licensed banks under any written law.
