Under section 25 of the Right to Information Act 2016, the information officer must decide within fourteen working days of receiving your request. Two weeks may be just short of that, depending on how many were working days. If the deadline has passed, section 31 lets you appeal to the designated officer within fourteen days of the failure to comply with the time limits. That officer must decide within three weeks. If they don't, or you dislike their decision, section 32 allows an appeal to the Commission within two months. (This is the official English translation; the Sinhala text prevails.)
