1. Short title and date of operation

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

This Act may be cited as the Community Based

Corrections Act, No. 46 of 1999;

(2)

Parts I and III of this Act shall come into operation on the day on which this Act becomes an Act of Parliament.

Part II of this Act shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may appoint by Order published in the

Gazette. Different dates may be appointed in respect of different judicial divisions or judicial zones.
