18. Offences

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Any Coast Guard officer who acts in contravention of the provision of this Act or any other written law, in the carrying out of his duties shall be guilty of an offence and shall be, liable to be tried by a Magistrate and punished with such punishment as is specified for such offence.
