s 1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Immigrants and Emigrants

(Amendment) Act, No. 7 of 2015.

s 2Insertion of new section 35A in Chapter 351

The Immigrants and Emigrants Act (Chapter 351) is hereby amended by the insertion, immediately after section 35 thereof, of the following new section:—

35A. The Authority prescribed to issue or renew passports may take finger printing for the inclusion in the passport, from a person applying for a passport or the renewal of a passport.”.

s 3Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency

In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
