12. Attendance of respondent and witnesses

(1)

The Magistrate may proceed in the manner provided in Chapter V and VI of the Code of Criminal

Procedure Act, No, 15 of 1979 to compel the attendance of the person against whom the application is made and of any person required by the applicant or the person against whom the application is made or by the Magistrate to give evedence, and the production of any document necessary, for the purposes of the inquiry.

Proceedings in absence of respondent.

When the person against whom the application is made is absent, the provisions of section 192 of the Code of Criminal

Procedure Act, No. 15 of 1979 shall, mutatis mutandis,apply.
