10. Meetings of the Council

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

The Chairman or in his absence a member elected by the members present shall preside at any meeting of the

Council.

(2)

The quorum for a meeting of the Council, shall be five members of the Council.

(3)

All questions for decision at any meeting of the

Council shall be decided by the vote of a majority of the members present. In the case of an equality of votes, the

Chairmen or any other member presiding at the meeting of the

Council shall, in addition to his own vote, have a casting vote.

(4)

Subject to the provisions of this section , the Council may regulate the procedure in regard to its meetings and the transaction of business at such meetings.
