Part I · Establishement of National Insurance Trust Fund

14. Contributions

Every person who is—

(i)

a public officer, provincial public service officer or a local government service officer ; and

(ii)

a person drawing a pension from the government, a Provincial Council or the local government service, as the case may be ; and

(iii)

a member of the Samurdhi Scheme, Farmers

Pensions Scheme, Fishermen’s Pension Scheme or a self-employed person, and who are persons entitled to benefits under the provisions of this Act, shall pay to the Fund a contribution, in such sum and at such times as may be specified by the Minister by

Order published in the Gazette.
