s 1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Navy (Amendment) Act,

No. 53 of 1999.

s 2Amendment of section 28 of Chapter 358

Section 28 of the Navy Act, as amended by Act, No. 11

of 1993 is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section, by the substitution, for the words “the rank of Lieutenant” of the words “the rank of Lieutenant Commander”.

s 3Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency

In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act,the Sinhala text shall prevail.
