19. Saving of the rights of the Republic and others

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Nothing in this Act contained shall prejudice or affect the rights of the Republic, or of any body politie or corporate, or of any other persons except such as are men-tioned in this Act, and those claiming by, from, or under, them.

Sinhala iL In the event of any inconsistency between the Sin-hala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
