s 1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Offensive Weapons

(Amendment) Act, No. 2 of 2011.

s 2Replacement of section 10 of Act, No. 18 of 1966

Section 10 of the Offensive Weapons Act, No. 18 of 1966 is hereby repealed and following section substituted therefor:—

10. No person charged with, or accused of, an offence under this Act, shall be released on bail except on the order of the High Court of the Province established under Article 154P of the Constitution, for such Province.”.

s 3Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency

In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
