3. Objectives of the Act

(1)

The objectives of the Act shall be to promote international co-operation for educational advancement by providing for exchanges in higher education by financing studies, research, instructions and other educational activities and by making provision for the award of post-graduate scholarships —

(a)

to citizens of Sri Lanka, who are pursuing higher education in Sri Lanka, to attend institutes of higher education abroad; and

(b)

to citizens of foreign countries, to pursue higher education in institutes of higher education in Sri

Lanka.

(2)

The objectives of the Act as set out in subsection (1)

shall be implemented by the Board.
