8. Constitution of the Appeals Panel

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

There shall be established an Appeals Panel for the purposes of this Act.

(2)

The Appeals Panel shall consist of three members appointed from a panel of fifteen persons consisting of scientists who are qualified in the fields of Entomology, Plant

Pathology, Microbiology, Mycology, Virology or Nematology who shall be appointed by the Secretary.

(3)

The Secretary shall appoint one of the appointed members to be the Chairman of such Appeals Panel.
