In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.

Avoidance of doubt

Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency

Fine not less than One Hundred

Thousand Rupees and not exceeding

Two Hundred Thousand Rupees and imprisonment of either description for a period not less than five years and not exceeding ten years or to both such fine and imprisonment.

Fine not less than Fifty Thousand

Rupees and not exceeding One

Hundred Thousand Rupees and imprisonment of either description for a period not less than two years and not exceeding five years or to both such fine and imprisonment.

Fine not less than Twenty Thousand

Rupees and not exceeding Fifty

Thousand Rupees and imprisonment of either description for a period not less than one year and not exceeding two years or to both such fine and imprisonment.
