9. Penalty for an offence under section 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Any person who commits an offence specified in section 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding rupees one hundred million or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding ten years or to both such fine and imprisonment.
