8. Withdrawal of application

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

An application made under paragraph (a) of section 6 may be withdrawn prior to initiation of an investigation, and in such a case it shall be considered to have not been made.
