6. Pleadings

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The pleadings in a Small Claims Court shall be limited to the following:-

(a)

the plaint;

(b)

the answer; and

(c)

the replication:

Provided however, that where there is no claim in reconvention, there shall be no further pleadings beyond the answer.
