9. Establishment of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council

(1)

There shall be established a regulatory authority to be called and known as the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy

Regulatory Council (in this Act referred to as “Council”), for the regulation and control of practices involving ionizing radiation.

(2)

The Council shall by the name assigned to it by subsection (1), be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in such name.
