4. Amendment of section 299 of the principal enactment

Section 299 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (3) of that section by the substitution for the words “ when a sentence of death or of fine or whipping with or without imprisonment is passed on an escaped convict, such sentence, if of death, fine or whipping shall subject to the provisions hereinbefore contained take effect immediately ;” of the words “when a sentence of death or of fine with or without imprisonment is passed on an escaped convict, such sentence, if of death or fine shall subject to the provisions hereinbefore contained take effect immediately ;”
