498. Penalties for non-compliance

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Where any company to which this Part of this Act applies, fails to comply with any of the provisions of this Part other than section 493, the company, and every officer or agent of the company who knowingly and willfully authorises or permits the default, shall be guilty of an offence and be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand rupees.
