7. Cessation of bank liability

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Where the holder of a current account fails to provide sufficient funds to meet the debits tax payable by him in terms of this Act, the banks liability for the collection of debits tax ceases upon the bank reporting such fact to the Commissioner-General.
