18. Presumption relating to foreign currency

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

In any inquiry under section 13 in relation to foreign currency, it shall be presumed, until the contrary is proved, that the currency in respect of which the dealing in foreign exchange in violation of the provisions of the Act or any regulation, Order, guideline or direction issued or made thereunder is alleged to have been committed is genuine.
