28. Amendment of section 47 of the principal enactment

Section 47 of the principal enactment is hereby amended as follows:—

(1)

by the repeal of paragraph (c) of that section and the substitution therefor of the following new paragraphs:—

“(c)

alters, moves, destroys, defaces or forges any boundary mark or boundary post or prepares false survey plans or tenders any such false survey plan of any forest to which the provisions of this Ordinance apply; or

(d)

keeps in his possession or custody unlawfully stamped timber or timber with counterfeit stamping.”;

(2)

by the substitution for the words “for a term not less than six months and not exceeding two years or to a fine not less than ten thousand rupees and not exceeding fifty thousand rupees” in that section of the words “for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine not less than rupees five thousand and not exceeding rupees fifty thousand or”.
