7. Insertion of new section 6A in the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The following new section is hereby inserted immediately after section 6 of the principal enactment, and shall have effect as section 6A of that enactment:—

6A. (1) The Minister may for the purpose of this Act, approve any society or institution which is a non-profit making society or a non-political society or non-profit making institution, as an approved society.

(2)

The Minister may prescribe the criteria to be satisfied by a society for such society to be approved.”.
