Part II · The Objects and Powers of the Council

15. Objects of the Council

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The objects of the Council shall be-

(a)

to promote, foster and regulate the practice of Homoeopathy;

(b)

to promote Homoeopathic system of medicine in the society with a view to improving the public health, in accordance with

Homoeopathy;

(c)

to promote and encourage the study, research into and practice of Homoeopathy;

(d)

to establish and maintain Homoeopathic

Institutions;

(e)

to regulate and control Homoeopathic

Institutions providing treatment according to the Homoeopathic system of medicine other than the government Homoeopathic teaching hospitals; and

(f)

to regulate and control of the manufacture, importation, storage, sale and distribution of

Homoeopathic medicines, drugs and other

Homoeopathic preparations.
