21. Authentication of documents

(1)

In a proceeding under this Act, arising directly or indirectly from a request made under this Act, a document duly authenticated shall be admissible in evidence.

(2)

A document shall be deemed to be duly authenticated for the purposes of subsection (1), if—

(a)

it purports to be signed or certified by a Judge,

Magistrate or Officer in, or of, a specified country;

and

(b)

it purports to be authenticated by the oath of a witness or an officer of the Government of the specified country or to be sealed with the official or public seal of the specified country or of a Minister of State or of a Department or officer of the Government of the specified country.
