18. Offences

(1)

Any person who –

(a)

wrongfully resists or obstructs any person authorised under this Act in the exercise of the powers conferred on such person;

(b)

wrongfully hinders or obstructs the Reconciliation

Office in the exercise, performance and discharge of its powers, duties and functions; or

(c)

willfully provides false information to the

Reconciliation Office, commits the offence of contempt against the authority of the Reconciliation Office.

(2)

Where the Reconciliation Office has reasonable grounds to believe that a person has committed the offence of contempt against the authority of the Reconciliation

Office, the Reconciliation Office shall report such matter to the Court of Appeal. Every offence of contempt committed against the authority of the Reconciliation Office shall be punishable by the Court of Appeal as if it was an offence of contempt committed against the Court of Appeal.
