30. Appointment of a Director-General of the Authority

(1)

There shall be a Director-General of the Authority appointed by the Minister and approved by the Cabinet of

Ministers who shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the

Authority.

(2)

The Director-General shall, subject to the general directions and control of the Board, be responsible for the conduct of all affairs of the Authority, including the administrative control of the staff of the Authority.

(3)

The Director-General of the Authority shall possess such qualifications and experience as may be prescribed by regulation.

(4)

The Director-General shall be charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the powers, duties and functions assigned to the Director-General be exercised, performed and discharged in accordance with the provisions of this Act and any regulations made thereunder.

(5)

The Director-General shall be responsible and answerable to the Board in the exercise, performance and discharge of his powers, duties and functions assigned under subsection (4).
