3. State to develop petroleum resources in accordance with international practice

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The State shall take all steps possible to ensure that the exploration and exploitation of petroleum resources are carried out with investor participation adopting internationally recognized engineering practices and proven technology.
