4. Agreements relating to exploration of petroleum resources

(1)

The Cabinet of Ministers may delegate to the

Minister the power to enter into agreements, for and on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka, for promoting the survey, exploration and exploitation of petroleum resources with any investor.

(2)

Every such agreement shall be between the

Government of Sri Lanka and a person or body of persons, for the implementation of the Petroleum Resources Agreement entered into with the Government of Sri Lanka, in terms of section 7.
