35. Regulations

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

The Minister may on the recommendation of the

Committee make regulations in respect of matters required by this Act to be prescribed or in respect of which regulations are necessary to be made in order to give effect to the objectives and the provisions of this Act.

(2)

Every regulation made by the Minister shall be published in the Gazette and shall be brought before

Parliament for its approval within three months of its publication in the Gazette. Such regulations shall come into force upon its approval by Parliament or any subsequent date as may be specified by Parliament. Any regulation which is not so approved shall be deemed to be rescinded from the date of such disapproval.

Notification of the date on which any regulation is so disapproved shall be published in the Gazette.
