37. Repeal and substitution of section 18 of the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Section 18 of the principal enactment is hereby repealed and the following new section is substituted therefor:—

18. (1) No person shall use an omnibus for carriage of passengers for a fee or reward or separate fare except under the authority of passenger service permit for the time being in force issued by the Commission or by a person authorized in that behalf.

(2)

For the purpose of this section, the power to issue a permit to operate omnibus for the carriage of passengers between two or more Provinces shall be vested with the

Commission.”.
