19. Delegation of powers to the Director-General of Customs and Director General of Excise

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The Commissioner-General of Excise may delegate in writing to the Director-General of Customs or Director General of Excise any power, duty or function conferred or imposed on or assigned to him by this Act if he is of opinion that it is expedient to do so for the efficient administration of the provisions of this Act.
