Chapter I · Establishment of the Udarata Development Authority of Sri Lanka

3. Area of authority

(1)

For the purposes of this Act, the area of authority of the Authority shall be limited to any area falling within the

Administrative Districts of Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya,

Kegalle, Ratnapura, Badulla, Monaragala and Ampara.

(2)

The Minister may from time to time by Order published in the Gazette identify any Divisional Secretaries Division or part thereof, falling within any one of the aforesaid

Administrative Districts, to be a “designated area” for the purposes of this Act :

Provided however, that the Authority may maintain branch offices and engage in any other activity outside the designated area, insofar as the same is necessary for the attainment of the objects of this Act.
