5. Amendment of section 25A of the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Section 25A of the principal enactment is hereby amended as follows:—

(1)

in paragraph (ii) of subsection (1) of that section, by the substitution for the words and figures “prior to December 31, 2007; and” of the words and figures

“prior to December 31, 2007;”;

(2)

in paragraph (iii) of that subsection, by the substitution for the words and figures “the

Co-operative Societies Law, No. 5 of 1972 , on or after January 1, 2008 but prior to January 1, 2009;

and

(3)

by the addition immediately after paragraph (iii) of that subsection, of the following new paragraph :—

“(iv)

by any person other than a Co-operative

Society registered under the Co-operative

Society Law, No. 5 of 1972, or Lady Lochore

Loan Fund established under the Act, No. 38

of 1951, commencing on or after January 1,

2009”.
