24. Pension not to be assigned — or levied upon

No pension payable under this Act shall be assigned or transferred, and accordingly every assignment or transfer made in contravention of this section shall be null and void. No such pension shall be attached or levied upon or arrested or taken in execution on account of any debt or payment due by the person to whom such pension is payable.
