69. Advisory Board to recommend granting of interim awards

(1)

Upon receipt of a reference under subsection (2)

of section 68, the Advisory Board shall-

(a)

consider each application for interim award on just and equitable basis; and

(b)

make its recommendations to the Authority whether to grant an interim award to the victim of crime, within fourteen days from the receipt of the reference.

(2)

In making recommendations on an application under subsection (1), the Advisory Board shall-

(a)

take into account all attendant circumstances of the offence committed against the victim of crime and the injuries suffered by the victim of crime;

(b)

consider all relevant evidence, documents and material that would establish the authenticity of the claim for interim award; and

(c)

take into account any compensation that has already been paid to the victim of crime by the accused or convicted person or that has already been recovered from the accused or convicted person by any court,

Commission, body or person, in respect of the offence alleged to have been committed.
