29. Experts deemed to be peace officer and public officer

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Every expert shall, in the discharge of his duties under this Act, be deemed to be—

(a)

a “peace officer” within the meaning and for the purposes of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act,

No. 15 of 1979; and

(b)

a “public officer” within the meaning and for the purposes of the Penal Code (Chapter 19).
