41. Interpretation

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

In this Act unless the context otherwise requires –

“Engineering Practitioner” means –

(a)

a Chartered Engineer;

(b)

an Associate Engineer;

(c)

an Affiliate Engineer;

(d)

an Incorporated Engineer;

(e)

an Engineering Diplomate; or

(f)

an Engineering Technician, who possesses corresponding qualifications specified in Schedule A hereto;

“Minister” means the Minister to whom the implementation of the provisions of this Act is assigned; and

“prescribed” means prescribed by regulations made under this Act.
