Part II · Administration and Management of the Authority

7. Constitution of the Board of Management

(1)

The administration, management, and control of the affairs of the Authority shall be vested in a Board of

Management (in this Act referred to as the “Board”).

(2)

The Board shall, for the purpose of administering the affairs of the Authority, exercise, perform and discharge the powers, duties and functions conferred on, assigned to or imposed on, the Authority by this Act.

(3)

The Board shall consist of-

(a)

the ex-officio members namely–

(i)

the Secretary to the Ministry of the

Minister assigned the subject of Finance

( in this Act referred to as the ‘‘Secretary’’)

or his nominee;

(ii)

the

Commissioner

General of the

Department of Inland Revenue or his nominee;

(iii)

the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit established under the provisions of the

Financial Transactions Reporting Act,

No. 6 of 2006 or his nominee; and

(iv)

the Inspector General of Police or his nominee; and

(b)

three members appointed by the Minister from among persons who have qualifications and experience in any of the fields of economics, accountancy, law or information and communication technology and who have knowledge in the regulation of gambling

(hereinafter referred to as “appointed members”).
