15. Licensing of gambling

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

A person shall not carry on gambling except under the authority of a licence issued by the Director-General appointed under the provisions of section 39 of this Act for that purpose.

(2)

The Director-General may delegate his powers, duties and functions in writing to any officer under subsection (1)

to issue licence.
