11. Liability to costs for unreasonable refusal to mediate

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

A court shall, in awarding costs in any action or proceeding relating to a civil or commercial dispute, take into account whether any party has unreasonably refused to participate in mediation.
