6. Prescription not to apply during mediation

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

In computing the period of prescription in respect of any cause of action, the period commencing from the date of commencement of the mediation and ending on the date of the Settlement Agreement, or of the certificate of non-settlement, as the case may be, shall be excluded from such computation, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any other written law.
